Resulting Initiatives:
- Competitiveness – the of an ‘Accounting Innovation Centre’ was jointly announced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) and University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. In the announcement the partners in this project cited discussions by Summit delegates to create new strategies to boost Ontario’s economic competitiveness
- Roger Martin’s Task Force on Competitiveness, Productivity and Economic Progress, in its Third Annual Report (November 2004) specifically detailed opportunities for leadership and advocacy by the Ontario Chamber and its [Summit] partners. This further acknowledges the niche role created for the Summit.
- Border Issues – participation on U.S./Canadian Task Group in Buffalo on a bi-national pre-clearance zone for trucks.
- Border Issues – the Ontario Chamber partnered with other groups to host a three-day conference to promote the FAST (Free and Secure Trade) Program.
- Mental Health and Productivity in the workplace – identified a need to address mental health issues in the workplace.
