Drummond puts the economy in perspective.
by Jessica Doan on Thursday, April 16th, 2009Picked up a copy of the May edition of Toronto Life the other day and came across a very interesting article about a speaker of OES past – now deemed a “celebrity economist.” Anyone who has been reading the news lately will recognize the name in the article – Don Drummond, TD Bank’s Chief Economist.
Last September when financial markets were crashing around us, Drummond was speaking about holistic approaches to economics – he hasn’t changed his tune much since then. The Toronto Life article talks about how Drummond focuses not only on traditional economics, but he also covers issues most other economists shy away from – poverty, the environment and education.
Drummond is really able to make the economy easy to understand, although he is sometimes viewed as pessimist, he is really able to relate and relay information that empowers Ontarians, moves change and helps us to push through this tough time.
