Grand Opening Event Ontario Visionaries – Building our Legacy
Fallsview Casino Resort At this celebratory dinner, the Ontario Chamber will launch Ontario Visionaries. The Ontario Visionaries initiative is designed to establish a distinguished society of the province’s seminal achievers – Ontarians whose contributions to business, politics, labour and the social fabric of Ontario, have served to advance the province’s economy for the benefit of all who live, work and invest here. This initiative will annually pay tribute to one extraordinary inductee who exhibits integrity, collaboration and leadership. The inaugural inductee is the Hon. William G. Davis, the 18th Premier of Ontario.

Panel Discussion: Tourism Competitiveness
Grand Event Room – Following the release of the Ontario Tourism Competitiveness Study in February 2009 and the announcement of new tourism sector funding from both the federal and provincial levels of government, now is the time for this important component of the economy to be discussed at the OES. The first session will discuss how the development of better tourism infrastructure, education and training, marketing and coordination among the key stakeholders is a key way to revive ailing one-industry towns and rural Ontario to improve tourism across the province.
